Questions?
What is a ROOKIE, anyway?
What class is my car in?
What's
the weather forecast in Oakland? |
Special Classes:
-
NEW Street Prepared and Modified Classes
Does FSP surprise you? If so you'd
better check out the FasTrack for new Street Prepared Classes -- cars have
been moved all over the place. New Mod classes, too
-
NEW Rookie Classes
We have changed the makeup of our Rookie Classes.
As before, all Rookies in a Rookie Class -- say, Rookie 1 -- compete for
a single set of trophies. But all rookies wil now run in the same run group
as their Open Class. The Rookies that run together in a run group will
make up a separate Rookie Class.
As a result we will have 7 Rookie Classes:
-
FS-R, ESP-R
-
DS-R, GS-R, DSP-R
-
AS-R, BS-R, CS-R
-
CSP-R, Street Touring-R
-
SS-R, ASP-R, BSP-R
-
OSP-R, F125-R, Mod-R
-
ES-R, HS-R, FSP-R, Prep-R
-
Street Touring (SCCA STR Class)--
Sedans 3.1 liters or under, modified more than Stock, Less than SP. Starting
in 2000, This class may run on any DOT approved tires, including R tires.
Street Touring cars running street tires may run in our Street
Tire class. (We can't call it ST-R,
cause that means Rookie!)
-
Street Modified (SCCA SM Class)--
Sedans or coupes modified more than SP. New this year in SFR (and SCCA!)
-
KARTS
-
Kart Drivers, please tell Registration you are Karters.
-
Read and become familiar with the SFR
Karting rules before the event
-
Karts will not be allowed to be driven under power through the paddock;
they must be pushed either on the ground or on a portable stand
-
Street Tire -- Must run tires with
treadwear rating of 120 or more.
-
Stock and Street Prepared Rookies may
run street tires only -- treadwear rating of 120 or more.
Modified and Prepared Class Rookies may use any Solo2
legal tire.
At each event, classes generally run one run group later than at the
previous event
General Event Information
-
The event will be conducted according to SCCA Solo II rules, as amended
by SFR Supplemental regulations
-
Entry Fees: $25 SCCA members; $35 all others;
-
By entering you agree to work your assigned work group;
-
Valid drivers' license is required; SCCA membership card is required for
discount;
-
Helmet is required: Snell type M or SA, '85 or later ONLY; Loaners
are available.
-
First run group is run on an "inverted grid":
-
First car to arrive on grid is put into last position;
-
Last car to arrive will run first;
-
Cars in the first run group will be tech'ed on grid.
WHY? Because the first car out each day runs on a slippery, dirty track,
and smart drivers want others to clean it off for them. Grid Early.
General Event Schedule
-
For first half run groups arrive 1 to 1 1/2 hours before the first car
out to walk the course, register and have your car tech'ed. Help is appreciated
in setting up the course and marking cones.
-
First car out 9:00 AM
Other run groups have no set schedule, but start as soon as possible
-
For second half run groups, arrive no later than 11:30 AM;
Run Group 5 will not start before 12:30 PM;
-
Registration closes at NOON;
-
Technical inspection close at 1:00
PM;
-
Please stick around and help clear the site!
Safety Steward Class This Event
Bryan Nemy, Chief Solo2 Safety Steward writes:
Without Solo II Safety Stewards we do not hold events. Our insurance
and our SCCA sanction require a Solo II SS on site at all times. We need
more Safety Stewards as our pool is drying up. If our small number of Solo
II SSs don't show we simply cannot hold an event. The job is very simple
and easy to learn. If we can get enough participation we can have a Solo
II SS for each run group as a work assignment.
I will be holding a short introduction and Solo II SS course walk on
the mornings of both March 5 and 11. All interested persons are invited
to attend. Remember: "No Solo II SSs = No events". |
